Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has described his wife, Nkechi as the only woman who is capable of marrying him, saying that if there was a chance to live another life , he would still marry her.
The Governor stated this last night at his Country Home, Umuobiakwa in Obingwa LGA during a special event organized by his Wife to mark their 28th wedding anniversary.
Governor Ikpeazu who went down memory lane to their courtship days recalled that his marriage to his wife was a product of the long friendship between his late parents and his late parents in law. He stated that his late mother, Bessie and his late mother in law were nurses and midwives who were friends for many decades, a friendship that helped facilitate his marriage to his wife.
Describing his wife as “tailor made” for him, he stated that she was the only person in the whole world who understands him perfectly and attributed his modest achievements in life to God and his wife.
He thanked God for his kindness to him and his family, especially for his four children who have also followed the family tradition of emphasis on education, hard work and humility.
He noted with happiness that most of the people who witnessed his wedding 28 years ago were still around to see them today, especially Chief Theo Nkire, first Attorney General of Abia State who was Chairman of their wedding who also chaired last night’s event.
He thanked his family members and his in-laws led by former Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Eric Acho Nwakanma for their support through the years.
