Rt. Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe Ph.D, the Hon. Commissioner for Trade and Investment. Abia State has assured traders who deal in shoes and bags parts that Gov. Ikpeazu Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D factored the needs of people like them when he thought of an automated shoes factory in Abia. The Commissioner was emphatic about this category of traders benefitting from the government moves to have shoes accessories accessed at reduced prices for not only the factory but for resellers like them .
This assurance is coming at the heels of hues and cries by these traders that private persons who import these parts sell to them at such outrageous prices that make profit impossible. The traders said they would appreciate alternative sources that would increase the margin of competition.
The former Chief of Staff to the Governor told the traders that Gov. Ikpeazu envisaged a larger picture when he conceived idea of an automated shoes factory. The Governor as the Chief Marketer of Made in Abia products would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that government supports all indigenous businesses with the best options. ‘The shoe factory will obviously access parts. These parts will serve the factory and also be made available at very reduced prices to our traders’, the Commissioner assured.
