The Honourable commissioner for Trade & Investment Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe Abia state has assured Aba traders the willingness of the state government to digitalize buying and selling in our various markets (most especially in Aba) by unveiling an electronic trading place ( popularly know as an online shop).
The Commissioner gave this charge when he visited Umuehilegbu Industrial Market in Aba.
The former deputy speaker assured the traders that the ministry is doing everything possible to make sure that their goods gets international recognition.
He also charged them to maintain peace between one another, through that way they will have a peaceful environment to do their business, stating that there various means of handling market conflicts than going to court, court can deliver justice but can’t bring lasting peace.
The commissioner left the following messages for the traders.
1. We will lift you from itinerant traders to those whose goods trade internationally
2. Stop antagonizing your brother traders. Trade can only thrive in atmosphere of peace
3. The Ministry has a viable Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism open to all traders. Exhaust them before you go to court to save peace. The court must give justice but may not give peace.
4. Allow market forces determine prices of goods.
